The seeing was not particularly steady but there is noticable brightening in the rings of Saturn in this image taken in the early hours of 16th April 2012. This is the Seelinger Effect when shadows in the rings are eliminated at opposition.

Meade 8" SCT at F23, Imaging Source Camera. 1/15s. IR(RSynGB). 283 frames of 12,000 stacked in Registax 5. Sharpened in Registax 6 & processed in Corel Paintshop Pro
