Mars

Mars just seems to be getting better and better (as you'd expect as it reaches opposition). Although the sky has been pretty murky this seems to have enhanced the detail on the Red Planet. Syrtis Major and other prominent markings have been very clear over the past couple of nights. Using a Baader Hyperion EP giving magnification of 215x.

Absolutely agree, Mars has been fantastic recently. Attached are a couple of images I've taken over the last week. THe luminance is near infrared and I think this increases the contrast on Mars

Wonderful detail. Proves that Mars does rotate.
