Arrangements for the Spring Moonwatch Week have now been finalised.

Moonwatch Week takes place from Sat 28th march to Sun 5th april and is part of the International Year of Astronomy 2009.

Blackburn Leisure AS in collaboration with HERAS are organising the following events for astronomers and members of the public:

Saturday 28th March, 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
Saturday 4th April, 1:00pm - 4:00pm.

Telescope amnesty - bring your 'scope along for advice and demonstrations.
Solar observation/photography (H-alpha and white light)

Saturday 28th march to Sunday 5th April.
The BLAS observatory will be open for public viewing every evening from sunset until late (weather permitting)

The BLAS observatory is located at:
Blackburn Leisure Social Club, Prescott Avenue, Skillings Lane, Brough, HU15 1BB
Park in the car park, and walk down to the dome at the far end of the recreation ground.

NASA has set media accreditation deadlines for the November space shuttle flight to the International Space Station.
